What makes the Lake District so special? We could wax lyrical for days about the majestic Lake District – a land of towering peaks, glistening waters, deep valleys, picturesque villages and atmospheric castles. Not forgetting the sugary wonder that is Kendal mint cake. It also happens to be a foodie hotspot so visit some of the quirky cafes, gastro pubs and Michelin star restaurants while you’re there. Working up an appetite shouldn’t be a problem.
