The land is teeming with wildlife so you might spot deer, kingfishers, otters and barn owls as you stroll across the fields and paddle in the stream. With giant twin tubs, you and your date can stretch out in comfort, harmony and total privacy as you take in mesmerising views of Devon hills and the odd grazing sheep. With a bath each, there’s no need to disagree about the water temperature either. The open-plan cottage is light and subtly modernised but when night falls, love birds can swing from the rafters in a quirky, elevated bed that’s literally suspended from the ceiling (just be careful on the ladder after a celebratory drink or two). She says “we walked over to the Bulls Head for lunch as recommended, which was amazing.
