Join us to inspect amazing places, meet the people who build them and support independent businesses that are looking to inspire a life more wild.
Working at Canopy & Stars
Founded in 2010, we're still a relatively small team and there's a relaxed family atmosphere around the office. We have a couple of resident dogs, an in-house choir (it's not compulsory) and a good bit of floor space taken up by a grand piano. It's the sort of place where creativity and energy are recognised and valued. We work flexi hours for the best work/life balance and have extra days off for volunteering, or big events like getting married and moving house. Every employee gets a yearly allowance for use on stays at Canopy & Stars places (or those on sister company Sawday's), and there are, of course, regular inspection trips as we go out to asses any place that we're considering working with.
Our ethical commitments
We take well being, mental health and equality seriously. We're members of Mindful Employer, The Living Wage Foundation (which means that everyone, including the office cleaners not just our staff, gets paid a living wage) and the Women in Business Charter. We've signed the Time to Change pledge and have committed to becoming Disability Confident, with full accreditation expected shortly. There are also regular well being days, which might feature informative talks or sessions with a masseuse who sets up in one of our meeting rooms for the afternoon.
B Corp, EO and our Charitable Trust
Canopy & Stars is a part of a unique employee ownership model with our sister company Sawday's. This means that everyone that works here gets a say in the direction of the company and decisions from the minute to the massive. As part of that model, The Sawday Trust was established. It uses its 24% share in the company to fund environmental causes. We're also immensely proud that Sawday's has become a certified B Corp, part of the global movement of companies using business as a force for good.
Current opportunities at Canopy & Stars
You might wonder why anyone would ever leave, but now and again somebody goes on an inspection trip and never comes back. We've found it's easier to replace them than to go and find out what happened. Below are the current roles that we're looking for.
